What can we help you with?

How do I share between EasyBib accounts?

If you had an EDU account, it is VERY IMPORTANT to follow all of these instructions - right down to the last step - to avoid losing projects.

Sharing bibliographies between EasyBib accounts is easy! Before you get started, be sure to have the email address of the account you plan to share with handy. If you need to create a new account, do that now. Please note: the new EasyBib account you want to share your EDU work to must have a different email address than your EDU account! Once you're ready to share, just follow these steps:

1. From the login page https://www-secure.easybib.com/login, click on the EDU users sign in here link at the bottom:

2. Enter your username and password and click Submit:

3. Once logged in to your account, find the Project you want to Share with another account and click on the Bibliography link:

4. Enter the email address of another valid EasyBib account (or the one you just created) in the E-mail or username: field and check the boxes labelled View, Edit, and Comment under that and click the Share button:

5. If successful, you will get a confirmation message with a green background:

6. Log out of this EasyBib account and log into the destination account. Click on the Shared with me link on the left, and a list of Shared Projects will display. You can confirm when and from what other EasyBib account the bibliography was Shared:

7. You have now successfully Shared the Project, but you can't stop here. To make sure you have access to everything you need, you must now Copy and Paste the newly Shared Project into a New Project in your destination account.

8. From the Shared Bibliography you'd like to Copy and Paste, click on Export and choose Copy All to Another Project:

9. Another window will pop up where you can choose an existing project to copy to:

11. Last step! Check the drop-down to make sure you know where your copied Project is going, and hit the Copy to Project button:

11. Congratulations! You have now successfully made your old Projects available in your new account. Well done, and happy citing! If you no longer need the original Bibliography, feel free to delete using the Leave link.
