Whether you'd like to learn how to construct citations on your own, our autocite tool isn't able to gather the metadata you need, or anything in between, manual citation is always an option on EasyBib. In this example, let's cite an online New York Times article entitled "Unemployment Is High, but France Is Fertile Ground for Start-Ups" in MLA format.
1. Using your preferred web browser, go to www.EasyBib.com. We recommend you create or log in to an account to ensure your work is saved properly, but this is not required to begin manually citing a source.
2. As we're citing a webpage, click and ensure the "Website" tab has been selected from the list of source type options. Then, click the "Manual cite" option directly below the beginning of the Cite Source bar.
Note for EasyBib Pro users: Ensure the correct style has been selected above the source type selection! Above, "MLA" is highlighted in orange, so we know it's been selected correctly. EasyBib users who have not subscribed will be limited to MLA format only; the website will prompt you to subscribe if another style has been selected.
3. This will take you to a form. Enter as much information as you have available, and click "Create Citation."
4. Congratulations, you've successfully cited a source manually using EasyBib. If you have any questions, please contact us using the form on the right!
